First Time Cruise in Southern Caribbean

So it was my first cruise! I had been on other smaller boats and at times had motion sickness. The thought of being on the water for 7 days and possibly feeling queezy all of the time was definitely not my ideal thoughts for a vacation. But you don't know till you try right? Oh the excitement of trying something new! How brave one needs to be.

The line up was an absolute monster! Like 3,000 to 4,000 people ALL trying to board the same ship! Where oh where are they going to be on this ship??? Don't worry lots of room to be had! The ship is beautifully designed as well. Glass, rugs, ceramic floors with highlights throughout the boat so you are not on colour overload.

Leaving Miami Florida

The food on the ship definitely needs to be explored as best as possible on the first couple of days. On my first cruise I did not explore enough and on my last day found the location in the buffet for better food.

The entertainment on board is abundant for all kinds. Trivia, bingo, information sessions, movies, swimming, some have shuffle board, basketball, etc. In the main theatre there is always a show on at night. Once around 7PM and a second around 9PM.

During the day, if the ship entertainment is not to your liking, you can always indulge in a book, games or other items of interest

What about the ports you ask? Well each port is your choice to explore or take the day for yourself with less passengers to explore the ship event more! Paid excursions are optional. But if you are paying for an excursion, you have to know that when you go through the ship excursions, they will wait for you if something happens where you can not make it back to the ship on time. Versus if you do your own excursion and don't make it back on time, you will need to find your own way to the next port.

Things to See at Ports

For my first cruise and not knowing what to expect, on day 5 when I knew I wasn't going to have motion sickness, and I knew there was lots to do on the ship, I said to my partner that we needed to book another one. Each cruise you go to multiple ports and get to see different cultures. Unpack your bags once and have a great time for your journey. Are there things that can go wrong? Absolutely! But you deal with them as quickly as possible and get back to the gratitude of being waited on by great staff!
